Take a wine and vineyard tour with Finca Malvasia

Ollie and his team have been running private or group tours for several years and are very knowledgable about all aspects of wine from the history, growing methods and obviously the tasting element!

The wine growing region of Lanzarote is called La Geria and is unique in that it’s built on volcanic soil. The vines are planted on large holes in the ground to protect them from the wind and create a unique micro climate where moisture from the night time air is collect and used to feed the vine.

This is a time-consuming operation as all must be done by hand, and the vineyards require a lot of space per vine. As a result, the vineyards are limited in their production so quality is the name of the game!

Lanzarote has more than 20 vineyard Bodegas, the oldest dating back to 1775 when the island was an important trading route stop off for ship bound for far afield.

During your tour you will hear much more about the importance of wine to Lanzarote as well as taste several wines while visiting 3 different Bodegas. Local cheese accompanies your tasting and the good thing is there’s no need to drive! Pick and drop off is at the Finca in an air conditioned mini bus.
